• Cherry flavors and juices are being added to popular athletic drinks, Naked Juice products, and continue to be popular as a component to sodas and candies.
Pecan…
* New study shows that a handful of pecans a day could reduce the risk of heart disease, likely due to the nut’s high vitamin E content, through LDL reduction.
Shakes & Malts…
• Carl’s Jr. decided to add flavors and continue to promote their line of Hand Scooped ice cream shakes based on overwhelming consumer response to their promotion.
• Wendy’s Frosty dairy dessert is now available in vanilla as a partner to its long term offering of chocolate.
• Ben & Jerry’s introduced flavored milkshakes in the summer of 2006.

Apple Pie…
• Smith Dairy in Ohio introduced Apple Pie ice cream in September of 2006, a flavor that is so popular, they introduce it every year to celebrate harvest season.
• Baskin-Robbins prediction that ice cream flavors that evoke feelings of American tradition and comfort, including Apple Pie a la Mode was made in the summer of 2006.
Sundae…
• Baskin-Robbins introduced a fall line of sundae flavors including Cookie Sundae.
Cotton Candy…
• Kids candy Pop Rocks will be available as “Pop Rocks Cotton Candy Explosion” in February 2007. “Featuring pastel packaging, Pop Rocks Cotton Candy Explosion offers the taste and sweet scent of the fluffy and delicious treat that has been popular with children and adults alike for generations.”
• Cold Stone Creamery introduced a line of kids flavors including Cotton Candy in June 2006.
Coconut…
• Dum Dum Pops are introducing new flavors to their line, including coconut-pineapple, which originally debuted in 1953.
Almond…
• In June 2006, a new study names almonds as antioxidant-rich, joining an elite group of other healthy food items like fruits and vegetables. Long recognized as an excellent source of magnesium and vitamin E, the finding of high levels of antioxidants in almonds will pave the way for more research, and inclusion in more products.
